Titus starts home-based
internet business

Starting a new business is always exciting, and for one Powers Lake gal, the adventure of running her own business has just begun.
Elda R. Titus is the owner and proprietor of an internet savvy business, Prairie Rose Country, LLC.
An avid EBay fan, Titus became interested in how to feasibly run a business on-line. Enrolling in coursework this past February with Prosper Incorporated became her catalyst for making that dream come true. A fully accredited program through the Accrediting Commission International, Prosper Incorporated taught her the skills necessary to not only run an on-line business, but be successful and find joy in the product she was selling. There was a big turnout for Mohall’s 19th annual Citywide Rummage Sales on Saturday, August 2nd. By the early morning hours things looked a little bleak with the thunder and lightning and rain that moved through the area. However, by 9:00 a.m. the rains were gone and the rummage sales began. Local People Excell at North Dakota State Fair

Junior Heifer/Steer Show
Ben Lodoen, Westhope showed the Grand champion steer in the Junior Market Steer and Heifer competition, with Preston Cargo of Minot exhibiting the Reserve champion. Champion heifers in 12 breeds plus commercial heifers also were chosen by judge Tyler Melroe, Britton, S.D.
In steer competition, Lodoen’s winning entry was a 1.382-pound animal from the fifth of six weight divisions. Cargo’s winner came from the fourth weight class. The steers ranged from 1,079 pounds to 1,531. Other exhibitors whose steers topped their weight classes included Laura Steffen, Belfield; Jerry Buckley, Mandan; Brett Schaefer and Tucker Hennessy, both of Des Lacs.
