Smoke-Free Bar
Welcomed In Bowbells

By Kiara Crosby

Long time owner and operator of The Ozone Bar and Grill, Jackie Peterson recently sold the bar portion of her building to Ron and Vicki Heisler, owners of Ronnie Inc.

As of Aug. 2, Ronnie’s Roadside Pub opened for business, and The Ozone Grill opened its doors as separate businesses and owners working together to provide the best options for customers.

"It was just too much with both sides for one person to manage," said Jackie Peterson owner and operator of the Ozone for the past 12 years. Excited about change Peterson stated, "We get along and work together well."

Ron and wife, Vickie were eager to tackle the business opportunity. With their business, Ronnie’s Inc. Auto & RV doing well in Kenmare, the couple was interested in enhancing opportunities.

"We live seven miles away, and just love the small town atmosphere," said Ron.

Previous bar experience gave Ron the confidence to go ahead and move forward with the business, "I’ve had a chance to meet people through my other business and they sort of led me to this."

The shared building itself has been renovated. The Ozone had an addition built to accommodate 40 more seats and include bathrooms. Paint and a few decorative updates can also be enjoyed by guests. Behind the kitchen, an addition was also built to house the increasing need for freezer space.
