The old neon clock hanging in the middle of the office has become known as quite an icon in town,
"Many kids have cruised Main and checked the clock at Breding Auto to know when it was time to go home," chuckled Steve adding, "I’ve had many offers to buy the clock, but I won’t part with it."
In fact, to step into the office of the building is a bit like entering a museum. Full of antiques and history of both the Breding family and Powers Lake, it is a treasure.

Katie Johnson receives
her third gold cup in piano

Katie Johnson received her third Gold Cup for piano for participating in the National Music Federation Festival held at MSU in Minot, February 20th. Katie earned a superior rating for her performance. She was part of the Key Players, with Janet Tennyson of Antler from 2000 until Janet’s passing in June 2009. Presently, Katie's instructor is Jane Kalmbach of Kenmare.

Area Students Participate in Mathcounts 2010

Fifty-seven Jr. High students from 9 schools in Rolette and Bottineau Counties took part in the annual MATHCOUNTS competition held February 9 at Dakota College Bottineau. This competition tests the math skills of these students. This test is taken by all junior high students throughout the United States schools. This yearly event is sponsored by the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers and Dwane Getzlaff, County Superintendent of Schools. Bottineau and Rolette schools compete with regional schools from Ward, Renville and McHenry Counties to advance to the state competition held in Bismarck March 8.
The second and third place teams are from Westhope Public School and Newburg United Public School, (Bottineau County) and Rolette Public School and TMMS, Belcourt for Rolette County.
