Mohall Paint and Linoleum building on
Mohall’s Main Street being torn down

BCI Construction of Mohall was contracted by Mitch Heisler, owner of the building, to tear the building down. This photo was taken on Saturday morning and the crew was working on the left section. By that evening the only section remaining was the section on the right next to the Renville County Farmer Office.

On September 27, 1950, Duane was drafted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, where he served until September 26th, 1952, when he was honorably discharged.

Duane was united in marriage to Shelly Johnson on August 30, 1979, and continued working with his father. In 1990 upon Henry’s retirement, Duane and Shelly became the new owners of Mohall Paint and Linoleum. They operated the business until April of 2000 when the business closed. Duane passed away on December 1st, 2002.

The building was purchased in June of 2003 by Terry and Dorinda Johnson through an auction sale. They owned the building until selling it to Mitch Heisler this past year.

Final plans for the use of the vacated space are undetermined at this time.
