Itís Homecoming Week at MLS, which is always a fine time for everyone involved. It is also a busy time, as students participate in a lot of events during the week. Congratulations to all the King and Queen Candidates - Connor Brackenbury, Cole Feland, Trevor Evanger, William Rogers, Emily Abernathey, Callie Carlson, Aubree Vendsel, and Madeline Solemsaas.
There are still a lot of events scheduled for the remainder of the week, so get out and support the students - Volleyball at North Star on Thursday; Homecoming Parade, Football game vs. Parshall, and Homecoming Dance, all on Friday.
The Maverick Booster Club will also be holding their tailgate party and membership drive on Friday at the Sports Complex. Memberships are just $5.00 each and we can always use more new active members. Our main objective is to support the athletic events. Some of our events include ticket taking at home volleyball matches and basketball games, providing programs for all home football, volleyball, and basketball games, providing camp scholarships to children of members who wish to attend those camps, helping with funding for equipment, providing lunches for teams when they travel out-of-town for those long distance events, support through advertising for district, regional, and state competitions, plus much more. All of this is possible through our memberships, yearly raffle, sale of ads on the Varsity calendars, funds received for ticket taking, and whatever fundraisers we hold.
This week I would like to extend a special birthday wish to my mother, Reta, who will celebrate her birthday on September 18th. Love you mom, and thanks for all that you do to help me out.
Also birthday wishes to my cousin, Vereta (Tovey) Leuty of MO on the 18th; to my cousin, Byron Erickson in MN on the 19th; and cousin, Christopher Gallis of MN on the 22nd. Love and best wishes to all of you. Hope you enjoy your special day.
