The Renville County Fair has come and gone, and now 4-H members are busy getting their entries ready for the North Dakota State Fair, which begins in Minot on July 18th and runs through the 26th.

I donít know for sure whether or not the entries were up at this yearís Renville County Fair, but it did seem like there were quite a few more exhibits entered. It was certainly nice to see a few more adults entering in the Open Class division. As you walked through the quonset at the Mohall Fairgrounds you could see the talent that is out there in regards to the projects. Whether it was woodwork, photography, foods, needlework, arts and crafts, produce - fruits and vegetables, animals, or horticulture, there were some spectacular exhibits. Was fun to view them.

Thanks to all who participated, and thanks to Louie Voigt and Christa Scott at the Renville County Extension office for all of their hard work and hours put into the Fair. It is greatly appreciated!

It was another super busy weekend here in Renville County. The Classic Car and Motorcycle Show brought a lot of people to Mohall on Saturday, and I understand there was also a vendor show out there. I went out to take pictures Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was full of old cars, pickups, and motorcycles. Plus it was nice to see a large crowd in attendance checking out all the vehicles.

The Border Saddle Club hosted a rodeo in Sherwood on Saturday evening and that was followed by a Street Dance. I didnít make it up there, but reports were that it was a great rodeo, as well as a nice crowd.

That same day there was a chili cook-off at the Mouse River Park. So Iím sure the Park was buzzing as well. I know there has been a lot of campers down there again this year, which is nice to see. For the most part, it is nice to see that the majority of the people have recovered from the flood and either trailers have been moved in or people have rebuilt.

Thanks to everyone who had a part in all the activities here in Renville County this week. Things just donít happen unless people step up and make them happen, and when people attend them, it makes it worthwhile to put them on.

Happy birthday on the 22nd to my cousin, Danny Erickson of Sidney, MT. Love you Danny!
