Christmas is here! What a beautiful time of the year it is, and this year has been gorgeous. This past week there were several beautiful days which were picture perfect and created by Mother Nature. The frost on the trees overlooking the churches, the park, etc. certainly have created that Winter Wonderland. The weather here has been gorgeous, however with the warmer temperatures comes the rain and things start melting, only to create slippery conditions in the evening when it cools down. The last couple nights when we left the office the fog has been heavy, but that too creates a wonderful picture of its own.

The one thing about this time of the year is the long hours we put into getting the Christmas issue out. With 18 pages it is like putting out two papers in one week. Plus the fact that we just finished up the paper from the week before. But the time and effort is well worth it and we hope that you will enjoy this yearís Christmas issue. A big thank you to each and every one of the businesses who put a Christmas greeting in the paper to wish their customers and friends a Merry Christmas. Please take the time to read each of the Christmas greetings as they all contain a very special message intended for all of you.

Those of you that know me, know that Iím a worrier and stress about things. Iím not going to lie, the past couple of weeks have been a huge stress on me, with the tearing down of the building next to us. When I purchased the building that we are in, I was told that if they ever decided to tear down the building next to me that I needed to know that this building shared a common wall or a ďparty wallĒ with that building. Mitch Heisler purchased the building and decided to have it torn down so that he can put something else up in its place. At this time he doesnít have any definite plans, but we do know it will be an improvement to Mohallís Main Street and if new businesses can be brought into our city that will be an added bonus.

My problem was I didnít want to lose my building and I didnít want the wall of my building to come crashing down or be damaged. However, I know that I was not the only one that was concerned about it.

Iím happy to report that the building is down and my wall is still standing. For that I am truly blessed and thankful to God. I prayed many times over it and worried many nights, even though people kept telling me it would be o.k. A big thank you to Russell and his BCI crew for a job well done, and thanks Mitch for understanding all of my concerns. I may not have been easy to deal with at the time due to all the stress, but I just had all of my concerns for very good reasons, and felt I needed to stand behind what I wanted and what I felt was best for me.

As we send this paper off to press, I want to thank a few people for all of their help - Deb and her husband, Tom; and Joan Otto. I am so lucky to have a worker like Deb. She was willing to put in all the extra hours, went above and beyond the call of duty to spend evenings here with me, and whenever asked pitched in to help where she could. Thanks Mr. Bolton for your assistance as well -- helping with the proofing or helping out with folding programs or sometimes even having to do some research for me was GREATLY appreciated. Thanks Joan for coming in to help out one afternoon - it helped me out a lot!
