Muskrats open their season with a 15 to 1 win over Ray

The Mohall Lansford Sherwood/ Glenburn/Kenmare-Bowbells (MLS/G/KB) Muskrats opened up their season on the road on Thursday, April 9th when they traveled to Ray.

MLS/G/KB jumped out to an early lead, as they scored 6 runs in the top of the first and never looked back. Ray did answer in the bottom of the first with 1 run, making it a 6 to 1 game in favor of the Muskrats.

The Muskrats’ defense and pitching held Ray to just that one run, while MLS/G/KB managed to come up with 15 runs, scoring 3 runs in the second inning, 1 in the third, 3 in the fourth, and 2 in the fifth, to win the contest 15 to 1.

Ray finished the game scoring their 1 run on 4 hits; they committed 4 errors; and left 5 men stranded on the bases.

The Muskrats scored their 15 runs on 15 hits; committed 1 error; and left a total of 9 men stranded on the bases.

Picking up the win on the mound for the Muskrats was Isaac Undlin, who threw 5 innings and gave up just 1 run on 4 hits, allowed one walk, and recorded 9 strike-outs. Coach Cale Peterson stated, “It seemed like after the first inning Issac started to find his grove and shut down Ray for the remainder of the game.”

Credited with hits for the Muskrats were: Hunter Rodin - a double; Connor Brackenbury - 3 singles; Talon Thompson - a single; Berkley Santos - 3 singles and a double; Wyatt Schmidt - a single; Isaac Undlin - a single and a double; Brett Froseth - a home run; Statler Olson - a single; and Chase Gates - a single.

A second game was played between the two teams, however a final score was not given, but the Muskrats did win.

Northwest Conference Indoor Meet






















Coach Jeri Long of Glenburn meets with some of her athletes at the Northwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Meet held at the MSU Dome on Tuesday, March 31st.

Track and Field teams around the area opened up their seasons on Tuesday, March 31st when they competed in the Northwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Meet held in the Dome at Minot State University. Among the teams competing were the Glenburn Panthers and the Mohall Lansford Sherwood Mavericks. Both a boys’ and a girls’ division was held. Results for the two schools were as follows:

BOYS’ DIVISION:
Team Totals: 1st - New Town - 128; 2nd - Watford City - 120; 3rd - DesLacs/Burlington/Lewis and Clark - 105; 4th - Trenton/Trinity Christian - 62; 5th - Glenburn - 57; 6th - Mohall Lansford Sherwood - 23; tied for 7th - Stanley/Powers Lake and Surrey - 19; and tied for 9th - Garrison/Max and Parshall - both with 6 points.

On Thursday, April 9th, the Glenburn and MLS Track and Field Teams participated in the Williams County Track and Field Meet in Tioga. This was the first outside meet for both teams. Results for the two teams were as follows:

Girls' Fastpitch Softball
KBMLS at Watford City

The Kenmare-Bowbells/Mohall Lansford Sherwood Fastpitch Softball Team finally got to open up their season on Thursday, April 9th at Watford City. KBMLS lost the first game 6 to 9, but game back and won the second game 18 to 5.
