November 6, 1937 to April 4, 2014

Myrtle Miller, 76, rural Lansford, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at a Minot hospital.

Her funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall. Burial will be in the Grano Cemetery, Grano.

A family service was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., at the church.

Myrtle was born November 6, 1937, on the family farm east of Mohall, to Milton and Bertina (Ostlund) Rice. She was raised on the farm and attended school in Mohall.

She was united in marriage to Jack Miller on July 3, 1954, in Mohall. They lived and farmed for many years near Grano. She not only assisted Jack in farming and ranching, she also raised seven children. She loved cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren, and attending all of their sporting events. She bought a van specifically for spending time with her grandchildren. She and Jack enjoyed many trips together, especially attending the National Finals Rodeo. She also enjoyed flower gardening, attending Norsk Hostfest, and celebrating her Norwegian heritage.

Myrtle dealt with cancer from a very young age. She endured many operations and treatments through the years. She never let this get her down; she felt blessed. She lived each day to the fullest, with faith and a real will to live.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, and a church Circle. She was a member of the Good Samaritan Society Auxiliary, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, a local Birthday Club, and previously served as president of H.A.N.D. She was a faithful caregiver and had faith in the Lord.
