Collin Heath

May 6, 1983 to March 14, 2015

Collin Brian Heath, 31, died March 14, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX 10 hours following emergency surgery for a severe kidney infection.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at First United Methodist Church in Commerce, TX with Reverend Mark Corazao officiating.

He was born May 6, 1983, in Greenville, TX. He attended Commerce Public Schools. Collin was active in soccer, baseball, and football as a youth in the Commerce Parks and Recreation program and was a member of the Commerce Tiger football teams. He graduated from Commerce High School "Cum Laude" in 2002 and attended Texas A&M University-Commerce for two years.

Collin enjoyed the summer family trips to the farm in North Dakota with his parents, two brothers, and the family beagle, Sugar. On one occasion he and his mother were involved in a truck rollover on a wet, gravel road. He didn't want to leave his mother who was trapped in the truck; but she instructed him to use both feet to kick out the rear window, crawl out through it, and walk for help. He eventually approached a farm and received assistance from the owner, who alerted the ambulance and firemen, and they cut Mom out with the jaws of life.

He was a quiet, unobtrusive, gentle giant and a deep thinker with a dry and incisive wit. His brothers, J.P. and Alex, were his best friends.

Collin is survived by his parents, John and Marilyn Heath of Commerce, TX; his brothers, John Paul (Lisa) of Lufkin, TX, and Alexander James (Meagan) of Commerce, TX; nephew, Aiden James of Commerce, TX; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special family friends, Carter and Frenda Bjornlie of Caddo Mills, TX; and Karen, Mike, Chris, and Emily Hubbert of Commerce, TX.

MaryAnn Haskins

On March 27th, 2015, MaryAnn E. Haskins passed away peacefully after suffering from a stroke in June 2014. The time following her stroke was a testament to her strength, as she fought hard to return back to health. MaryAnn was deeply loved by those surrounding her life. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife. Her touch reached the hearts of those who she encountered throughout her life, leaving her own special memories for all to cherish.

MaryAnn was born to Leo and Anna Smith, and graduated from Sherwood, North Dakota. She married Curtis Haskins in 1959, and they had four children together, Wayne, Brian, Alan and Debra Ann. After living in Sherwood, ND for 13 years, they moved to St. Ignatius, MT to start a dairy farm. This was followed by a move to Polson, MT for the same opportunity. MaryAnn worked hard on the family dairy, along with her four children, until 1989. She then followed Curtis to Oregon, where he was a salesman for AdMedia. After two years, they moved back to Polson where Curtis worked for the County and MaryAnn worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Joseph's Hospital. She held many jobs in her lifetime; seamstress, dry cleaning, house cleaning, and even being a nanny to a family whom she loved dearly. Her children always took precedence, though, and when her family was faced with the hardship of two son's battling cancer, she quit her job to nurse them back to health. In 1997 Curtis went back to work for AdMedia, which allowed them both the enjoyment of travel. They covered 26 states, living in their fifth wheel from 1997 to 2003. MaryAnn loved this time of her life, as she was able to see many of God's glorious wonders during her travels.

She was a faithful servant of God throughout her life. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Sherwood for over 30 years, and a member of Immaculate Conception Church for 40 years. She was a member of Ladies Aid in St. James, Prairie Pioneers Homemakers Club in Sherwood, and a member of Ceramics Club of Valley View. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participating in their respective sports and other events. She enjoyed taking walks daily to enjoy God's beautiful creations, as well as attending daily Mass to celebrate His love.

As a faithful servant of the Lord, she lifted all of her worries to Him, and was often heard praising, “This too shall pass.”

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her father, Leo Smith; mother, Anna Smith; and her brother, Clayton Smith.

Survivors include her brothers, Leonard (Ione), Willis (Helen), Jerry (Carol), all of North Dakota; sisters, Lorine of North Dakota and Judy (Ken) of Utah; Curtis Haskins of Polson, MT; sons, Wayne (Jean) of Polson, MT, Brian (Colleen) of Oregon, and Alan (Laura) of Alaska; daughter Debbie (Fiancé Steven Loret) of Polson, MT; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with another due in September.
