Glenburn at Williams County Firestorm Invitational Meet
Glenburn competed in the Williams County Firestorm Invitational Track and Field Meet which was held in Tioga on Monday, April 29th. Their results from that meet were as follows:
VARSITY:
Natalie Stivers: 2nd in the Discus with a state qualifying throw of 115’ 3”; and 3rd in the Shot Put with a throw of 33’ 11”.
Randi Long: 2nd in the Shot Put with a state qualifying throw of 36’ 5”; and 6th in the Discus with a throw of 88’ 8”.
Brandon Chalfant: 4th in the Long Jump with a leap of 17’ ½”.
JUNIOR HIGH:
Rebecca Haller: 1st in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:14.23; 2nd in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:59.35; and 2nd in the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 6:40.
Megan Berdahl: 3rd in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:17.97.
Latasha Dean: 3rd in the High Jump with a jump of 3’ 11”.

800 Meter Relay: 2nd place with a time of 2:21. Team members were Megan Berdahl, Latasha Dean, Harlee Gunning, and Raylea Folstad.

Trent Marquart: 6th in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 28.34; 5th in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:04.38; and 1st in the Long Jump with a jump of 15’ 2”.














































































Glenburn at Charlie Hangman Memorial Invite
On Saturday, May 4th, Glenburn’s varsity participated in the Charlie Hangman Memorial Invitational Track and Field Meet. Their results from that meet were as follows:
GIRLS’ DIVISION:
Randi Long: 3rd in the Shot Put with a state qualifying throw of 35’ 8 ½”.
4 x 800 Relay: 6th - Elizabeth Overton, Emily Overton, Harlee Gunning, and Megan Berdahl. No time was made available.
4 x 400 Relay: 6th - Megan Berdahl, Emily Overton, Harlee Gunning, and Latasha Dean.
Elizabeth Overton: 8th in the 3200 Meter Run.

BOYS’ DIVISION:
Chad Benjamin: 5th in the 400 Meter Run.
Colton Kohl: 6th in the 1600 Meter Run.
Brandon Chalfant: 6th in the 300 Meter Hurdles.
4 x 200 Relay: 4th - Calder Soloway, Oscar Troost, Brandon Chalfant, and Chad Benjamin.
Calder Soloway: 2nd in the High Jump.
Dustin Weeks: 6th in the Shot Put; and 3rd in the Discus. .














MLS at Northwest Conference
MLS participated in the Junior High and Junior Varsity Northwest Conference Track and Field Meet which was held in Tioga on Monday, May 6th. Their results were as follows:
JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS:
Hailee Depute: 1st in the 300 Meter Hurdles; 1st in the Javelin; 1st in the 200 Meter Dash; and 2nd in the Long Jump.
Macy Sundahl: 2nd in the Shot Put; 3rd in the Triple Jump; and 3rd in Javelin.
Klesa Christian: 7th in the 100 Meter Dash; and 7th in the Long Jump.
Holly Nokes: 2nd in the Triple Jump.
1600 Meter Relay: 3rd - Madeline Solemsaas, Klesa Christian, Holly Nokes, and Macy Sundahl.
JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS:
Alex Weight: 2nd in the 800 Meter Run.
Jacob McIntyre: 6th in the 800 Meter Run.
Zac Urfer: 6th in the Discus; and 7th in the Javelin.
1600 Meter Relay: 2nd - Seth Southam, Alex Weight, Jacob McIntyre, and Zach Urfer.
JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS:
Kaitlyn Nokes: 1st in the Long Jump; and 5th in the 100 Meter Dash.
Jennah Haygood: 6th in the 400 Meter Dash.
Mackenzie Gibson: Tie for 8th in the High Jump.
Emily Brendsel: 2nd in the Shot Put; and 5th in the Discus.
Kodie Christian: 5th in the Shot Put; and 3rd in the Discus.
Donna Eide: 4th in the Shot Put; and 8th in the Discus.
400 Meter Relay: 3rd - Morgan Depute, Emily Brendsel, Jennah Haygood, and Kaitlyn Nokes.
800 Meter Relay: 4th - Morgan Depute, Emily Brendsel, Jennah Haygood, and Brittney Weight.
JUNIOR HIGH BOYS:
Beau Driscoll: 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash; and 6th in the 400 Meter Dash.
800 Meter Relay: 3rd - Stephen Ellingson, Levi Feland, Kyle Lay, and Beau Driscoll.

On Thursday, May 9th, the Northwest Conference Track and Field Meet for the varsity teams was held. Results for the MLS teams were as follows:
GIRLS’ VARSITY:
Hailee Depute: 2nd in the 300 Meter Hurdles; 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash; and 7th in the Long Jump.
Klesa Christian: 7th in the 100 Meter Dash.
Macy Sundahl: 6th in the Javelin; and 8th in the Triple Jump.
Holly Nokes: 7th in the Triple Jump.
400 Meter Relay: 6th - Madeline Solemsaas, Klesa Christian, Holly Nokes, and Madison Southam.
800 Meter Relay: 8th - Hailee Depute, Klesa Christian, Holly Nokes, and Madeline Solemsaas.
BOYS’ VARSITY:
Dustin Rhodes: 2nd in the 200 Meter Dash; 7th in the 100 Meter Dash; and 3rd in the Long Jump.

Girls’ Regional Fastpitch Tournament this weekend
The Girls’ Regional Fastpitch Tournament is slated for this weekend, Friday, May 17th and Saturday, May 18th at the Tommy Turtle Park in Bottineau. Due to the fact that regional games were still yet to be played this week, pairings for the tournament were not known. Schedule for the tournament is as follows:
Opening Round - Friday, May 17th:
1:00 p.m. Seed 1 will play Seed 8; and Seed 4 will play Seed 5.
3:30 p.m.: Seed 2 will play Seed 7; and Seed 3 will play Seed 6.
Loser Out Games:
Two loser-out games will also be played on Friday, May 17th. Both games will be played at 6:00 p.m. with the two losers from the 1:00 p.m. games playing each other and the two losers from the 3:30 p.m. games playing each other.
Semi-Final Games:
Two semi-final games will be played at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th.
Loser-Out Games:
Two more loser out games will be played on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with the loser from the top semi-final game crossing over to play the winner of the loser-out game from the bottom bracket on Friday; and the lower from the bottom semi-final game will cross over to play the winner of the loser-out game in the top bracket.
Championship Game:
The championship game is slated for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th.
State Qualifiers:
The first and second place winners, as well as the two winners from the loser-out games on Saturday will all advance to the State Fastpitch Softball Tournament to be held in West Fargo on May 30th and June 1st.

KBMLS goes 2 for 2 at the East/West Crossover in Minot
KBMLS played in the East/West Crossover on Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd at the South Hill Complex in Minot. Teams participating in the event along with KBMLS were Westhope/Newburg/Bottineau, Watford City, Grafton, DesLacs/ Burlington/Berthold, Thompson, Central McLean, and Pembina County North. All teams played a total of four games during the two day event.
On Thursday afternoon, May 2nd, KBMLS matched up against Pembina County North in their first game at 1:00 p.m. KBMLS won that contest by a score of 11 to 6. KBMLS had a total of 8 hits in that game. Leading the team in hitting were Shania Brackenbury, Codee Gilbertson, and Justice Brown, all with two singles; and Emily Abernathey and Macy Feland each had a single.
Winning battery for KBMLS was Emily Abernathey, on the mound, and Justice Brown, behind the plate.

In their second and final game of the game, KBMLS played Thompson. KBMLS was defeated in that game, as Thompson beat them 15 to 11. The loss on the mound went to Emily Abernathey, as she relieved Kilee Radzwill in the top of the second. Justice Brown was again the catcher for KBMLS.
KBMLS finished the game with only 5 hits while Thompson had 12. Picking up hits for KBMLS were: Emily Abernathey, Shania Brackenbury, Kilee Radzwill, Codee Gilbertson, and McKayla Neubauer, all with a single.

Opening game for KBMLS on Friday, May 3rd was against Grafton. After three innings of play the game was tied at 6 to 6, but then Grafton outscored KBMLS 9 to 5 to pick up the 15 to 11 win. KBMLS finished the game with 10 hits. Those hits were recorded by: Emily Abernathey, a single; Shania Brackenbury, a double and a single; Kilee Radzwill, a double and a single; Codee Gilbertson, a double; Justice Brown, a single and a double; and McKayla Neubauer and Macy Feland, each with a single.
Seeing action on the mound were Emily Abernathey and Kilee Radzwill, with Abernathey credited with the loss. Justice Brown was the catcher.

KBMLS 4 1 1 1 0 1 3 = 11

KBMLS’s final game in the crossover was against Westhope/ Newburg/Bottineau. KBMLS went on to win that game in a close battle, 10 to 8. KBMLS scored their 10 runs on 4 hits, while W/N/B had 6 hits. Justice Brown finished with two singles, while Kilee Radzwill and Codee Gilbertson each had a single. Kilee Radzwill was the winning pitcher, with Justice Brown behind the plate doing the catching.

This past weekend, May 10th and 11th, KBMLS along with the same teams competed in another East/West Crossover, with these games being played in Grafton. Results from those games were not known by press time.
