Three Maverick girls qualify for State.......
Northwest Region Meet



















MLS tracksters who have qualified for the State Class B Track and Field Meet to be held in Bismarck on May 22nd and 23rd are left to right: Hailee Depute, Macy Sundahl, and Skylar McLain. They are coached by Mickey Depute.

The Northwest Region Track and Field Meet was held in Watford City on Friday, May 15th. Individuals who finished in the top three places qualified for the State Track and Field Meet to be held in Bismarck on Friday, May 22nd, and Saturday, May 23rd.

MLS had three girls who qualified for the State Track and Field Meet. Hailee Depute qualified in the 300 Meter Hurdles and 200 Meter Dash; Macy Sundahl qualified in the Javelin; and Skylar McLain qualified in the Discus.

Individual placings for the Mavericks at the Northwest Region Track and Field Meet were as follows:

GIRLS’ DIVISION:
MLS finished the meet with 58 points, putting them in 5th place.  Scoring for the Mavericks:

Hailee Depute: 1st in the 300 Meter Hurdles; and 3rd in the 200 Meter Dash. Both of Hailee’s times were state qualifying times.
Macy Sundahl: 1st in the Javelin; and 7th in the Shot Put.
Skylar McLain: 3rd in Discus; and 4th in Shot Put.
Emily Brendsel: 5th in Discus.
Eden Howery: 6th in Discus.
400 Meter Relay: 4th - Morgan Depute, Summer Smith, Hailee Depute, and Trinity Guenthner.
800 Meter Relay: 5th - Morgan Depute, Summer Smith, Hailee Depute, and Trinity Guenthner.
1600 Meter Relay: 6th - Alli Girard, Eden Howery, Leah Feland, and Landra Sjokvist.

BOYS’ DIVISION:
The MLS boys finished in 8th place with a total of 25 points. Scoring for the Mavericks:

Tanner Driscoll: 4th in High Jump; 4th in the 100 Meter Dash; and 6th in the 200 Meter Dash.
Beau Driscoll: 6th in the High Jump.
400 Meter Relay: 6th - Dillon Mortensen, Beau Driscoll, Jacob Gates, and Tanner Driscoll.
800 Meter Relay: 8th - Patrick Smith, Jamison Vetter, Jacob Gates, and Beau Driscoll.
1600 Meter Relay: 6th - Dillon Mortensen, Jamison Vetter, Michael Knutson, and Jacob Gates.
3200 Meter Relay: 7th - Alex Weight, Chase Driscoll, Riley Strand, and Stephen Ellingson.

Five Lancer athletes qualify for CNFR
















Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce that five student athletes have qualified to compete at the College National Finals Rodeo to be held in Casper, Wyoming at the Casper Events Center June 14th to 20th. Qualifying in the team roping are the following teams: Logan Milligan, freshman, Torrington, WY, with partner Denum Santero, sophomore, Minatare, NE; Blaine Finney, freshman, Ainsworth, NE, with partner Seth Anderson from Gillette College; Trey Yates, sophomore, Pueblo, CO, with partner Brit Ellerman from the University of Wyoming; and Levi O’Keeffe, sophomore, Mohall, ND, with partner Brady Wakefield from Gillette College.


State Golf Meets
The 2015 North Dakota High School Activities Association State B Girls’ and Boys’ Golf Tournaments will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, May 26th and 27th.

Girls’ Tournament action will be played at the Jamestown Country Club, 3730 86th Ave. SE, with Jim Roaldson serving as tournament manager.

Boys’ play will be at Carrington CrossRoads Golf Course, 393 US 281 NE, with Greg Johnson managing the event.

At the state tournaments, three team trophies, individual plaques for the top 10 scorers, and medalist honors will be awarded to participants at the conclusion of each event.

Play begins at 9:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, May 26th, and 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27th.

Adult ticket price for both tournaments is $7.00.
Student ticket price for both tournaments is $4.00.

State Track and Field Meet
May 22nd and 23rd in Bismarck

The 2015 North Dakota High School Activities Association sponsored State Combined Class A and B Girls’ and Boys’ Track and Field Meets will be held May 22nd and 23rd at the Bismarck Community Bowl located a 1701 Canary Avenue. Jim Haussler, Activities Director for Bismarck Public Schools, will be serving as the meet manager.

The two day event will begin Friday, May 22nd at 9:30 a.m. with the Parade of Athletes. Competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday, the meet will begin with field events at 9:00 a.m.

Adult ticket prices are: $11.00 daily or $20.00 for the two day wristband.

Student ticket prices are $6.00 daily or $10.00 for the two day wristband.

Pre-sales (state meet wristbands only) will be Thursday, May 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Community Bowl North Ticket Booth.

Ticket booths open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22nd, and at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23rd.
